Reichu: I originally did this prelim for the 2I / Misato stuff, much as I loooove the twisted Fuyutsuki / Gendo chemistry. ::D As a reminder to self -- and warning to others!!! --, OMF raised some issues over here which I'll need to investigate later. Might just be my Transration Magic at work. We'll see.

Fuyutsuki (OFF) "To think this was once a continent of ice…"

Fuyutsuki gazes outside, dumbfounded, through the center of the glass window.
Fuyutsuki "There's no trace of it left."

The former has the same intrepid smile as always.
Fuyutsuki "You? So you survived."

Fuyutsuki faces forward when he speaks.
Fuyutsuki "I see… Rokubungi-kun, you…"
Gendo "(interrupting) Excuse me, I have a different name now."

Gendo searches his pocket and produces a postcard.

Fuyutsuki, smiling bitterly as he puts out his hand and looks at the postcard.
Fuyutsuki "A postcard? Not a business card……!?!"

Fuyutsuki is miffed.
He looks at Gendo.
Fuyutsuki "Ikari…… Gendo Ikari……"

Reichu: Somehow, "miffed" doesn't feel strong enough. :wink:

Okay, in most instances I don't mind rearranging the name order for the script, but it feels totally wrong here. Kiyokawa's delivery is just classic, IMO. "IKARI. IKARI GENDO." Ooooo, that's miffed, all right!

Gendo "My wife has been nagging me to get this to you, Professor Fuyutsuki…
She seems to be a fan of yours."

Fuyutsuki replies sullenly.
Fuyutsuki "I'm honored."

Fuyutsuki (OFF) "How is Yui-kun?
Isn't she participating in this tour?"

Gendo looking at Fuyutsuki as if scowling.
Gendo "Yui wanted to come, too, but…"
He puts on rather a suspect grin.
Gendo "…we have a child now, so…"

Wave crests crash violently.

Fuyutsuki goes up the stairs.
Gendo follows.
Fuyutsuki "Your organization, 'Seele', was it? The unpleasant gossip never seems to die down. I can't approve of forcibly pinning down the board of directors."
Fuyutsuki reaches the top and turns around.
Gendo stops.

Despite being the one looked down upon, Gendo's face is calm and composed.
Gendo "Still so fastidiously principled.
No clean organization can survive in this day and age."

Conversely, Fuyutsuki is the one looking down, but…
Fuyutsuki "This official investigation of the Second Impact……"

Fuyutsuki (OFF) "If the investigation team consisted only of Seele people, you would run into all sorts of trouble."

Misato (15 years old) is all alone.
Man (OFF) "The sole survivor of the expedition team."

On a chair and hugging both knees, Misato sits in complete isolation.
Man (OFF) "Her name is Misato Katsuragi."

Fuyutsuki (OFF) "Katsuragi? She's Dr. Katsuragi's daughter?"

Fuyutsuki and the man peer in through the tiny window.
Man "Yes. She hasn't spoken for almost two years now."
Fuyutsuki "That's terrible."

An expressionless Misato.
The frame of the window in front.
Man (OFF) "It attests to the hell that she witnessed. Her physical injuries have healed, but psychological wounds do not heal so easily."

Fuyutsuki leaves, slightly distressed.
Fuyutsuki "I suppose so……"
